Product Description

In the hit series from the star of Peep Show, QI and That Mitchell And Webb Look, comedy genius David Mitchell vents his spleen on modern life in this award winning series of hilarious rants.

No subject is off limits. David's targets include the elderly, lying politicians and Anne Robinson. And if necrophilia, the Welsh, the oddly familiar Camelopard and mysterious King Cnut are your thing, look no further. This is British comedy at its most irreverent and brilliantly observed.

Have you ever worried that you're not passionate enough about sofas? How to pronounce the word "valet"? Or what to do with a half-dead mouse? Are you confused about public mastication, inflatable hover-forts or the proper etiquette when signing someone's boobs? Well fear not, David is on your side and has the answers.

Special Features:
  • Three brand new episodes: Certainty, Publishing and Wedding Lists
  • "Inside The Crate": The History of David Mitchell's Soapbox
  • Audio commentaries with David Mitchell and producers

4.0 out of 5 stars funny collection of short rants 2 July 2012

I first need to say that all of these little "rants" are available online for free. I bought the DVD to have them all together because I found them very funny online and it was priced just under 10quid. Some are funnier than others and its definitely not a DVD to watch all the way through as they can get a little monotonous. They are great for a little one-a-day laugh though. This is a 2-disk set.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth Buying? 18 Mar 2012

Almost all of this is already available for free on YouTube, the Guardian website & ChannelFlip [or ChannelFLIP if you're DM]. And Series 3 of the Soapbox is not included here which makes the picture of a bearded DM on the cover rather misleading.

There are extras on here, and in one of them David is interviewed and comments that he doesn't know why anyone would buy this as the content is freely available online. But I like having them all in one place on a handy disc. The menu is a bit annoying as the soundtrack is a multilayered garble of all of the soapboxes playing at once, so you'll need to mute it unless you want to be driven mad. But if you love David's rants, you'll love this.
