5.0 out of 5 stars Top-notch recordings of first-rate modern music 19 Feb 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is an excellent disc in every way:
1 For completing the cycle of Matthews Symphonies on CD (though he is writing an Eighth!)
2 For the recording of his highly unconventional choral-and-orchestral 'Vespers'
3 For the excellent performances throughout
4 For being an Excellent Xmas Gift!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stellar performance 22 Jun 2014
By NavRow
Format:Audio CD
An important work recorded for the first time by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and The Bach Choir under David Hill. This is a must have for anyone looking to hear this outstanding work. As Gramaphone puts it "A mightily impressive find, make no mistake - and another stellar performance..."
