Format: Paperback
David Gentleman's London provides the reader with a supurb visual, and also factual account of every aspect of London, whether it be Knightsbridge, St Pauls Cathedral, or Hampstead Heath. His paintings are beautiful, delicately drawn, detailed and full of personality. I would rate this book 10 out of 10, and it is perfect for anyone interested in London, or just art in general.

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful By Suthers on 16 April 2011
Format: Hardcover
This is the third of David Gentleman's books I've purchased, the others being Paris and coastline. I really enjoy his loose and fresh painting style, it lends itself perfectly to both the large panoramic views with moody skies and the more intimate and detailed sketches of ornamental features such as ironwork or doorways. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a reminder of how rich in architecture and character London is as captured by a true artist of quality. I would like to see how he works , so it would be great if there was a chapter on how he achieves his unique images.
