Absolutely Stunning!, 24 Nov 2002

This review is from: David Cassidy - Live in Concert [DVD] (DVD)
Be prepared to be blasted into the past with this sensational concert on DVD! David’s voice sounds brilliant as he belts out his greatest hits live. I found this concert to be full of energy and the pounding sounds gives you great excitement. He does an energetic performance of the Beatle’s ‘I Saw Her Standing There’. The numbers just keeps on coming. Some of his live performances sound even better than those on the ‘Then and Now’ CD! One song that grabs you is his Partridge Family song ‘Summer Days’, what a sound!! Also is his solo ‘I Am A Clown’. He clearly comes across that he is enjoying himself and giving his best to his fans. As for the actual DVD it is presented in 16.9 Widescreen! With variable Sound options: Dolby 5.1, DTS Surround, PCM Stereo. A mini-documentary is included of behind the scenes preparation/ meeting the fans which I found was well produced and brilliant. Also included is a photo gallery of various pictures taken during the concert with a Cassidy track in the background. I won’t spoil it by saying which one! Now another DVD would be great, perhaps a reissue of the 1985 concert ‘His Greatest Hits Live’ with the promo videos of ‘The Last Kiss’ and ‘Romance’. Or even a documentary with loads of extras like they do with artists like ‘Westlife’ or ‘Abba’ DVDs. I’m sure there’s tons of Archive material that can be put to good use. Fans and even non- David Cassidy fans will not be disappointed with this Concert DVD. See an original Pop Idol in action!!

David Cassidy-Live in Concert-Clyde Auditorium April 2002, 20 Nov 2002
This review is from: David Cassidy - Live in Concert [DVD] (DVD)
"I can certainly feel my heartbeat" now that I own this superb captivation of David Cassidy's spring concert in Glasgow earlier this year. Twenty eight years later is definitely the icing on the cake to have on DVD such favourite tracks as "I am a Clown", "I Write the Songs"' "Could it be Forever", "Summer Days", "Daydreamer", "Rock me Baby", "Cherish", "I Woke Up In Love This Morning", "I Think I Love You" and "How Can I Be Sure". Twenty eight years ago all these tracks were smash hits and the live performance captured here on this first class DVD, surrounded by a very willing participating audience, and accompanied by a first class band of top musicians and two superb backing vocalists is second to none. "I Saw Her Standing There" is a good rendition of the Beatles Classic. Blues fans will delight in "Cry". Mmmmmm! "Hush" - well - hush was the word to describe the audience during the live performance on the night - you will not be disappointed. Similarly "Last Kiss" comes across with such feeling, recapturing the ambience of David's mid 80's concerts. "Hollywood Nights" finale nearly brought the roof down at the Clyde Auditorium and now you have the chance to really let your hair down and join in at home to a superb finale, which can test your Hi-Fi to the limit. Yes, today's audio and visual equipment certainly make this artist come alive in your own home in the form of first class soundtrack' camerawork and visual effects. A little extra captured on the DVD is the behind the scenes footage and the photo gallery. This DVD is a MUST FOR ALL FANS AND ARDENT MUSIC LOVERS THIS CHRISTMAS.

Daydreamer forever, 23 Nov 2002
This review is from: David Cassidy - Live in Concert [DVD] (DVD)
Any dedicated David Cassidy fan has to own this video/DVD. 87 minutes of energy, warmth, real cool and professional performance, humour, fabulous musicality and that outgoing sexy attitude is us all we could probably dream of. For the thousands of fans who have attended one of David's shows it is the perfect souvenir. The video brings us both the wonderful music and gives us the chance to relive the magic moments. We love to watch the close-ups of his boyish smile and listen to the all time favourite songs. Again and again. You can really feel David's connection with his audience. 32 years of affection - and he indeed also seems to appreciate and enjoy every minute on stage with his fans. There is a snag in it, though. It makes us want more! We can't get enough. He makes us daydreamers forever.
