This is the 1st book I have read written by David Busch.
I thought I knew the Nikon D700 well, but David's book helped enormously. It is well written and structured along with clear and concise photographs of the camera's display menus. They are easily read and are the right size when compared with other similar camera books.
I was determined to read it cover to cover and whilst it made me think and question some of his points, I thoroughly recommend this book to any D700 photographer. Since finishing I have set up my D700 to a lot of his suggested settings and learnt a lot more of its capabilities.

Brought this book to go along side my manual that came with the camera, and what a little jem it is. Very well written and very easy to follow.Its a little large to carry around with you but by the time you read this book from end to end you should be well conversant with the camera. You cant beat using the camera but this book will get you well on the way to mastering the controls of the camera. I have brought the same book for the D300 which I had and that also was a great asset to have.Because the D700 has more features that the D300 I still would buy the book even if you still owned both cameras. A must to have book.

The Nikon D700, to my mind, is an excellent camera. To the uninitiated it can appear complicated and perhaps a little daunting to use except on the simplest of settings. It is sold with a reasonably comprehensive owner's manual. David Busch's book is eminently readable and compliments the Nikon manual. It goes into more detail and makes various recommendations, some of which I have followed up on the suggested websites. It deals with the each element in detail and in many cases explains "why" rather than just "how". The guide is a bit large to put in a pocket but I guess you won't want to be without it for long!
