Photographic books can be a problem -- what is it you are really looking for? Some lower-end cameras come with little or no paper instruction.Higher-end cameras (of which the 5D III is certainly one) tend to come with a fairly full paper manual. But such manuals, while the user should consult and be familiar with them, do not make for easy reading. If you are a professional moving to a 5D III, or similar, you probably need less help than would an enthusiastic amateur moving up the capability range of their camera. For such people David Busch provides truly excellent help.
This help comes in two parts: firstly "Canon EOS 5D MARK III Guide to digital photography" covers how to use the camera very well from the point of view of an amateur photographer (rather than a technician). It is very readable and I have found it easy to find the answers to my questions. But, weighing in at 458 pages on high-grade glossy paper, it is not something you want to carry about with you. And that is where Busch's "Field Guide" comes in. Smaller and lighter (and ring-bound, it will go into your kit without much overload. In the field it will make it easy to find the answer to a problem -- provided you have read the major version carefully beforehand. Reader's tastes differ, but this pair of books are, by some margin, the best I have found of this type and would seriously recommend to any new owner of a 5D III.
The author has done similar works based on other cameras, though doubtless the photography elements will be similar across books based on different cameras. Strongly recommended.

The best camera guide book currently available on Canon 5d iii and 6d cameras, in a convenient size which fits in a gadget bag and can be referred to until confidence is gained in how the cameras facilities work.
