Actually the issued manual with the CanonEOS 5D MkII is not too bad, it just needs expanding. However whilst at 452 pages David Busch's guide is an enormous book, it is far too verbose, yet still manages to leave the reader confused. The few new small bits of information get lost in the paragraph after paragraph of meandering prose, which by the time you get to the end think "that's that's all very well but it did not actually tell how I do this or that, or what exactly do I need to press to get this done."
The words, 'concise', 'clear', 'simple', 'straightforward', do not seem to be understood by the author. I am still confused about many aspects of this great, but very complicated camera.
My previous camera manual for my T90 was a quarter of the pages yet managed to explain everything in a clear and CONCISE manner. I cannot compare this to the other manuals by Amazon, but I shall be certainly looking for a different manual in the shops that gives all the little practical tips without reams of waffle.
I cannot recommend this.
