Dave is a cat stuck in a cat flap. The animals in the garden try various ways to free him – Dog tries to scare him out, the birds try and tempt him out with worms, and the other animals even try to tickle him out! But then someone has an idea – they decide to feed him out with baked beans. Dave eats beans, and more beans, and more beans until... the ground shakes, Dave shakes, and he blasts off out of the cat flap!!

Sue Hendra is an author and illustrator. She graduated from Brighton University in 1994 and has worked on over seventy books.
Liz Pichon studied graphic design at Middlesex Polytechnic and Camberwell School of Art in London. She won the Smarties Book Prize Silver Award.

This is our favourite book. My 5-year old twins love it, mum and dad love reading it. It's just so funny and such a good read. I think we've read it a hundred times and each time the kids laugh even harder. Just brilliant, definitely recommend it.

Our 19 month old daughters favourite book! She knows the book almost by heart and finishes off the sentences. Beautiful illustrations too. Cannot recommend highly enough. Dave is big and quite fantastic....
