I love the Dave Matthews Band - I have seen them live several times and have almost every record - so, when I saw this DVD available I was naturally popping it into my shopping basket in some haste!
Oh boy, what a disappointment. This is without doubt one of the worst music/band documentaries ever made. Now, the opportunity here was a good one - it is interesting (if you can bear to sit through it) to see the places where the band began, however, the fact that there is no music by the band in the film, coupled with the most dreadful interviewees known to man makes this a painful experience.
Having a bit of film-making under my belt myself, I have to say that I could have done a far, far better job - this is so desperately boring that anyone could!
Whatever you do, if you like DMB, DON'T get this DVD!!

I wonder if the five-star reviewer has actually seen the film - or just the DVD cover to which his two-sentence "review" refers.
This is one of the worst music documentaries I have ever seen - and what is particularly galling is the fact that it talks about one of the best rock bands around.
Basically, it is an unimaginative eulogy to DMB strung together from several uninteresting interviews of people in some way connected to the group plus some comments from the band leader himself.
The amateurish footage with some cheap camera tricks added for good measure is accompanied by constant background music. This commercial-radio-style gimmick has probably been devised to compensate for the truly astounding fact that a documentary about a band famous for its live gigs doesn't include any footage of them actually playing!
