I was a bit dubious about reading what I thought would be a traditionalregency, but I finaly did & was I glad I did. I think it was the slightparanormal element to the story which I enjoyed so much.
Lady Georgiana Darleigh is not your usual Regency lady she is a Druid withunbelievable powers & although she doesn't yet know it, she has a destinyto fulfill...
She is very outrageous, not caring what anyone thinks about her antics. Georgie is estranged from her husband because she found out a few weeksafter marrying him, Brock only married her to save his estates. All shewanted from him is his love. She does all these outragous things to grabhis attention.
With 2 friends Georgie goes to Watier's club for a masquerade for peer's &their mistresses. Brock hears about this & goes straight there to bringhis errant wife home. While Georgie is at Watier's & before Brock findsher there, something very strange happens to her. She is thinking abouther aunt Gwynllian when she suddenly appears in front of her, as if out ofthin air. But she knows her aunt is at home in Wales, not at a masqueradein London. What Georgie doesn't realise is that she can make illusionsappear real with her mind. Even other people can see her illusions & oneman in particular who is very shocked by what he sees. His name is theDuke of Gloucester & he is part of Georgie's destiny...She has to stop theDuke from attaining the throne of England if she can.

Tracy Fobes' skill in evoking an imagination of this magnitude as portrayed in Daughter Of Destiny is very impressive. The ability Georgiana's possessed in creating an illusion as befitting a "Becoming Guardian" is so detailed and convincing it makes this book a cut above the rest. This paranormal ability intertwining with the romantic aspect is a very delectable combination, not to mention the eerie feeling you get as the ever tightening threat kept closing in and makes you want more of the same from this author.

This is my first book of Tracy Fobes and I definitely plan to read more of her books.

This was the first book that I read by Ms Fobes. It was different than most of the romances I chose. I enjoy time travel and "different", but had never really read anything quite so mystical. The characters are very well defined and the plot moves along quite quickly in most cases. Georgina and Brock have a lot of obsticales in their way and how they come thru is unique. They are characters that the reader cares about right from page one.

The Durids involved in the basically regency type novel, are a touch that give the book the added special quality. I really could not predict some of the twists and turns - which helped hold my attention.

Yes, this was the first, but not the last for me by this gifted and talented storyteller.

Two years ago, Georgiana married Lord Brock Darleigh because she loved him. However, he hurt her when she learned that he married her for her money because he needed to save his estate and care for his mentally ailing mother. After hearing her sobs every night, a guilty feeling Brock decides to allow Georgiana her freedom by staying away from her.

Now Brock understands what he has thrown away in Georgiana. He decides he wants his wife and will do anything to regain her love and respect because he loves her too. However, his campaign to "court" Georgiana runs into a monster roadblock. Georgiana is one of three Guardians of Becoming Druids alive today. One of them has turned evil and wants her dead. The other is a younger person. Instead of simply wooing his spouse, Brock risks his life to keep her safe.

DAUGHTER OF DESTINY is an exciting tale that adds mystical elements to a Regency romance. The fast-paced story line is filled with action, drama, and tension. The lead couple is a charming, warm duo struggling with their estrangement and a murderous master malevolent maestro that is pulling the strings. Although the plot occasionally falters between the two story lines, Tracy Fobes provides her audience with a refreshing novel.
