This book was a really fast read - Their whole relationship became within a day - but a LOT happened during that day :)

Marigold was minding her own business in her apartment, whipping up a potion to get rid of those silly freckles on her face once and for all. When all of a sudden, she wasn't alone anymore.

"Who are you?"
"You can see me?"
"Of Course I can see you, I'm not blind"

This tall hunk of a guy in front of her didn't know what to think about that. But he introduces himself as Death's Reaper - So he's here because she's about to die?? Well forget that - Mirigold is smarter than that, she decides to forget taking the potion, she doesn't want to die -
But that kind of ticks Death off - He gets frustrated with her, not just because he can see her, but now she's messing with his schedule! NOT to mention the funny things he's doing to her...

Never has a mere mortal ever turned Mictain on like this - one look at her and he's ready to lose control over himself.
He has no idea what to think or do about this human who is going to get him a lecture from Lucifer himself!

But instead of kicking the Reaper out - she invites him over for dinner tomorrow night - he pops back out of her house, back to Hell where his apartment is. Lucifer is waiting for him. He is NOT pleased. He wants Mictain to do whatever is necessary to get closer to this human and find out HOW she can see through his invisible cloak.

Well he already had the invitation, so why not use it :)

This ebook was a fun read - they had good chemistry with each other. I loved Marigold's sense of humor lol Or lack of :) She tried hard with the sexual induo's but she knew how cheesy it sounded as it left her mouth.

Now Mitcian, Just look at the cover :) Says it all right there :) yummy :) And he has a sense of humor to match.

In this story - Marigold's "father" decides he wants his daughter back (even though he left her mother before she was born, and she had no idea who he even was)

Lucifer owed her father a favor, so he decided to let the half mortal live. But not before warning off Mitcian - "if you break her heart, I can't stop her father from ripping your ears off"

But Mitcian didn't plan on breaking her heart :)

Once word got out about Marigold, demon's started showing up, trying to kill her in order to get back at her father.

Lots of action in this story - both fighting and romantic -
This was a fun read with a great ending :)

And You gotta love Lucifer's Sense of humor too :)

Plot:
The potion was supposed to get rid of her freckles, not kill her. But when Death's Minion makes an appearance, she knows drinking it would be a really Bad Idea. Although a night of wicked sex certainly appeals...

Comments:
- Contemporary paranormal (witches, gods, mythology) romance with some explicit sex scenes.
- 813 kindle locations, 21,460 words. This is a novella, but completely self-contained.
- m/f - explicit, caring, fun. Slight erotic spanking. Not frequent.
- Marigold is a strong, female character with "curves". She's a kicka**, take names kinda girl. Not quite "plus-sized", but comfortable in her body and enjoys her food.

Opinion:
Clever, funny, sexy, yet kinda silly - Eve Langlais at her novella best. There's Death (well, one of his minions anyway) appearing for his date with the mortal, a condom in his pocket, just in case he gets lucky. So what do you do? Cook him pasta with cheesecake dessert, and invite him for a game of wii bowling, of course. It's lol funny, wonderful one-liners, and (IMO) totally original. What goes on in Langlais' head! What isn't to like?

On top of that, "Date with Death" has an intelligent use of gods and heaven/hell mythology, taking the story to the next level of smarts. Highly recommended - if you're not easily offended by non-"Traditional Christian" views of the AfterLife. *wink*
