I found this book most helpful in my quest to understand the Data Protection Act in full detail. The commentary was excellent and extremely clear and concise. I thoroughly recommend it to all those seeking to understand this important legislation.

I have just been informed by the Stationery Office that the mistakes in the table of contents and the index have been corrected.

I can therefore recommend this book as the content provides an extreamly good explanation of the new data protection act.

The book contains some excellent information on the interpretation of the 1998 Data Protection Act which will come into force this March. It is set out in a clear format and makes the act easy to understand.

However it is seriously let down by its Table of Contents and Index which are totally incorrect. This makes the book useless as a reference text as you can't locate the information easily.

Without a correct Table of Contents and Index I can't recommend the book which is a shame as the content is very good.
