Simple. Safe. Resource saving.
Besides the highest recognition levels using comprehensive, award-winning virus protection, G Data InternetSecurity has the new Idle Scan module to make use of inactive computer running time. Additional cloud-based checksum comparison of suspicious files and the silent firewall give you complete defence against viruses, worms, Trojans, backdoors, spam and hacker attacks – without loss of performance or tedious queries. Parental controls offer additional protection.
Thanks to new cloud security technology and up-to-date behaviour recognition, the 2012 Generation offers even more effective protection than before – and without bringing the PC to a halt. The G Data 2012 product generation’s lightning-fast hard drive scans and small storage requirements are outstanding. As a technology leader, G Data is again setting the highest security standards in virus, spyware and phishing protection with the 2012 Generation.
The 2012 Security Generation contains new features that users will love. The usual award-winning virus recognition and extremely fast reaction time to new threats marks G Data out as a quality leader. The proactive recognition methods integrated into the 2011 Generation, such as behaviour blocking and cloud security technology, provide fast protection for the PC against unknown viruses and leave no opportunity for online criminals.

Increase in performance through:
New idle scan
The new G Data idle scan makes use of computer downtime and thus saves resources during active work. The idle scan is launched when the user is no longer working at the PC so neither the system load nor the hard disk activity will exceed the threshold value. If the scan process is interrupted, the G Data software notices the current status and resumes the scan at the same place during the next period of inactivity. Once the scan is complete the idle scan launches another full check a week later.
Larger fingerprint database
Fingerprinting is a self-learning technology which prevents unnecessary data scans. So-called fingerprints are compared with files that have already been scanned during subsequent scanning procedures. A ‘clean’ file is only checked again when there has been a signature update. The interval between checks becomes longer with each scan. This helps the G Data software to ‘learn’ and makes checks of your computer faster each time.

VirusBulletin, April 2011
"G DATA is always a welcome sight on our test bench thanks to an excellent record of stability and good behaviour, to say nothing of invariably impressive detection levels. The vendor’s dual-engine approach also manages to avoid the excessive sluggishness which is so often associated with this kind of product."
VirusBulletin, December 2010
“In the final reckoning, as ever for G DATA, scores were stratospheric, demolishing all the sets with ease, including an excellent showing in the RAP sets. No false positive issues combined with fl awless coverage of the WildList earns G DATA another VB100 award after another remarkable performance.”
PC Advisor, December 2010
“G-Data AntiVirus 2011 has muscle where it counts most: stopping malware.[…] In addition, G-Data AntiVirus 2011 was one of the few antivirus packages we tested that didn't flag a single "safe" file as potentially dangerous.”
