I am a student of the university of portsmouth and our lecturer of "data communications" teach us from this book and he suggested it to us. Its very nice written book, easy understanded, nice shmemes and pics and very usefull. I hope you enjoy it, too :)

A great book. Easy to understand and follow. Nicely well designed and coloured. Includes plenty of chapters and topics. Diagrams are well designed which enhances learning and remembering. Quite cheap book. A great investment for those who are mainly new to the subject. Suitable for everyone who is interested in Data Communications and Networking. The level of the book is not for a particular group. There is not too much Maths involved. Infact no Maths at all. Gives mainly qualitative knowledge. However if you want a book that decribes Data Communication and Networking quantitatively (Mathematically) then this book may not help. Highly recommended book.

This book was recommend to me by my fourth year lecturer and I have to say my degree would not have been as easy had I not had this book. All of the major technologies are presented in detail using simple English with acronyms explained. This book also employs simple to understand, high quality diagrams, which I found myself referencing due to their clarity and high level of detail!
A must for anyone interested or involved with computer networks!
