The Game The player assumes the role of a brave hero plotting out an exciting fantasy voyage through the medieval times filled with treachery, betrayal, battles and ambushes. Historical uniforms, armoury, siege weaponry, landscapes with stylish medieval buildings, realistically animated and highly detailed units, as well as a fully flexible zoom-in camera, and a stunning selection of tactical and strategic options - are what make CASTLE STRIKE an outstanding absorbing experience to be enjoyed by up to four players (in multi player mode).
The Aim The player is confronted with evil-tempered neighbours and bloodthirsty robber knights that lurk around the dark forests of Central Europe. Furthermore, he must achieve various vital tasks. Amongst others these include: the upkeep of troops and servants, building castles and their fortifications, assaulting enemy strongholds, smoking out bandit camps, fighting glorious battles, and last but not least, rescuing lovely maidens from the brutal hands of dangerous barbarians.
The Mission To earn this honour, the winner must first set-up camp and successfully master 27 missions. The single player campaign involves a neighbouring conflict in the times of the Hundred Years War. The eventual fate is determined by the Rabenhorst family. Try to defend your familys honour, mercilessly pursue your foes, and prove Henry the Fifth right:

castle strike? whats tht?,
This review is from: Castle Strike (PC) (Video Game)
Castle Strike? They kept this game quiet! and wrongly so. If you like Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader, AOE, Settlers series, any real time strtergy then this is one of those games that must be in your CD rack. Especially at only £7 (12-01-05)The game is set in the medieval times, nowhere in particular. There is a 27 game campaign to complete, the irst three being the well crafted tutorial, guiding you through the basics. The control system is a hybrid mixture, a little AOE, and a little unique. It is still simple to navigate though, and building resources etc is easy. It is a resource gathering game, with villagers, and an array of military units. The game is really half real time city byuilding stratergy, and half epic 3-d battles; as in Medieval Total War. Thats right the game is in 3-d (not terribly impressive) but still 3-d. The most impressive part of the game is the seige weaponary, such a choice, and so destructive!! Brilliant, neighbouring castles beware, does my arsnal look big in this? An excellent, well crafted, well thought out game, a new breed of real time stratergy. Combining both city building skill, and battle skill in one game. A must have!

wow. after playing the game for about 10 minites i realised it was good. ok there is a limited amount of buildings and the campains are hard but who cares. the grapics and game play make it better than age of empires and the massiveness it just mind boggerling.ok so bad bit. not many. and for its price (£5 feb 2005) it is great. with a story line and a good 3d grapic engine i hope you buy it

Mediaeval Battling at its best,

This review is from: Castle Strike (PC) (Video Game)
I originally bought Castle Strike for my son to play but got so caught up in the game that we now regularly share missions and strategies. The basics of the game are easy to learn and comprise castle and village construction (beautiful graphics and effects) and the building of a suitable army of various mediaeval troops. All this is controlled by serfs gathering resources for you to use. The gameplay can be either 'Campaign' where you are given a quest to achieve (there are three campaigns each with eight main quests), or 'custom' where there is a bewildering array of possibilities that will keep me occupied for many weeks. The only complaint that I have with the gameplay is the repetitive nature of the Castle/Village building process which must be gone through before any real action can take place, although once battle commences the sheer adrenalin rush more than makes up for it. Overall this is an excellent RTS game with only a few minor bugs to mar the enjoyment.
