Product Description

Review

"There is not a weak essay in the set, and the collection paints a surprisingly coherent picture of the breadth and diversity of Darwinian thought. The essays are appropriate for all readers; with an extremely reasonable list price, there is no reason that any library should be without it. Summing Up: Essential. All levels/libraries."
R. Gilmour, Ithaca College, Choice Magazine

"Darwin is accessible; contributions retain the vitality of the public address. As well as a comment on the history of Darwin and his work, Darwin is a notable record of how the author of Origin was commemorated at 200.
Piers J. Hale, The Quarterly Review of Biology

Droit au But gives the A level student a variety of issues to discuss and dig deeper into the background of french life. Overall the text gives a basis of further learning for all A Level candidates. Having been a student using this text for the A Level course i can safely and soundly recommend this book to all people wishing to learn advanced french in school or out of school.

4th mechanics module in the mei spec. Essentially mechanics with the addition of far more calculus techniques than previously used. Subjects are variable forces, mass, moments of inertia and dynamics of rotating bodies as well as stability of equilibrium. Usual layout for the mei spec (including only vaguely related quote at the beginning of each chapter; one notably in french!). Explanation of ideas followed by examples and then exercises including some previous exam questions. I found this book to be entirely possible to study from independently (i studied 6 extra modules including this for my additional further mathematics qualification at a-level) and considerably more interesting than previous modules. I would recommend however that a good knowledge of some other less predictable modules (DE,FP2,C4) is needed.
