Went to the launch of this fantastic album on 17th March '10 and was blown away by the incredible hit that was Sarah and her Band. Listening to the CD in the car on the way home was equally enjoyable. Sarah's voice is smooth and effortless as well as the standard of her songwriting; "Darning the Dream", being the title track, demonstrates the talent within this artist's songwriting abilities.
To summarise, such a good first album! A good mixture of tracks, combining slow easy listening jazz with fast upbeat standards. 3 songs of her own, "Some People" to name one, really shows off her voice to be such a pleasure to listen to. Amazing instrumentals from the band as well. Looking forward to album number 2!

This is an excellent introduction to an exciting new voice. Sarah has a beautiful voice: apparently effortless, expressive and musical that brings both her own material and standards to life.
For me the best track was "Workin' Hard": witty, energetic and rhythmic, it swung perfectly and despite being over four minutes long didn't flag in the slightest. Her version of "Love for Sale" was well-sung, but perhaps not an ideal choice. There wasn't quite the sense of a seedy, down-at-heel environment that this needed.
This is a great album: excellent listening, full of variety and Sarah is very well supported by the band. Sarah weaves great music from the material. I hope this is the first of many albums.
