Product Description

The mechanical benefots incorporated in this tool combined with the lightness of the Darlac swop top extending pole (available separately), makes pruning high branches easier. The quad pulley mechanism dramatically reduces the pulling effort required and the geared blade provides amazing power. These combined benefits give the easiest cut ever with minimal strain on user and pole.

This tool deals very well with thick "forgotten" stems on the tops of tall hedges or small trees which are inaccessible by ladder and loppers. It allows you to work from the ground safely and relatively easily precluding precarious and life threatening feats of balance over long drops and watery hazards. It is strong enough to put up with some overloading where necessary.

The pruner itself is very well made and with the gearing can cut through some big branches, however there is a design flaw.
The rope is threaded through a series of pullies but these are not man enough to cope with the tension and often the rope comes
off the pulley and gets caught in-between the metal bracket which is hard to free up as per previous comments.

They seem to be a cheap plastic and wobble about giving the problem and not in keeping with the well engineered metal work.
Despite sending back for repair the pruner continued to show this fault so i returned for a refund.

Shame because it has the makings of being the best out there !!!

This is proving to be very capable. I have been using it on the end of the 5m pole to reach what had previously been inaccessible, and have been using it to cut branches up to 35mm with very little effort.

Naturally at full stretch it can be a bit unwieldy (and some users might like to consider having someone else pull the cord so they can have both hands free to manage the pole) but I found it manageable on my own at full extension, and with the pole at a shorter length it is very easy to use indeed.

It is an anvil pruner which is not obvious from the description currently showing on Amazon which as far as I am concerned is a good thing as I find that design is a bit more forgiving on thick branches - by-pass pruners can sometimes twist a bit on thick wood.
