More About the Author

Lily Crussell is an author of young adult paranormal romance and fantasy novels. Hailing from Buckinghamshire in England, she lives in a quiet town where nothing ever happens. Writing since her early teens, Lily doesn't see writing as a career choice, more an obsession that won't let her rest until her muses are sated.
Not only a novelist, Lily spends her time writing Haiku and Sonnets, none of which she's had the bravery to submit anywhere as of yet.

When not writing, Lily usually has her nose in a book on subjects ranging from Geiko to Veganism, a subject she is devoted to entirely. She has a terrible sense of humour; enjoying tacky comedies, bad horrors and awful tv. She enjoys cute fluffy animals and is hoping to train guide dog puppies if she ever gets out of retail.

Her dream is to write all day, living in a dream world of her characters and only coming out of it to train puppies. As a Vegan, she is active in animal welfare issues and believes all creatures deserve respect, regardless of whether they have two legs, four, wings or gills.

Her first e-book can be found here;

Favourite TV;
Twin Peaks, Miranda, The Simpsons, Scrubs, programs about cute, fluffy animals, The Walking Dead.

Favourite Movies;
The Crow, The Fall, Labrynth, Willow, The Goonies, Battle Royale, Death Note, The Prophecy, a tonne more I can't remember.

Favourite Music;
30 Seconds to Mars, Charlie Simpson, GACKT, Incubus, 100 Monkeys. Eisley, Kate Bush, David Bowie, anything cheesy from the 80's.

Favourite Food;
Vegan hot chocolate (it's amasing!), Ms. Cupcake's cupcakes (criminally good and completely Vegan, they taste just like normal cupcakes, but better), Vegan lasagne, blueberry Vegan ice cream

Pole fitness, reading, writing, watching movies, watching silly videos on the internet, playing computer games.

Favourite Games;
Atelier Iris, Resident Evil, Legend of Zelda series, Project Zero, Tomb raider, Legacy of Kain (because the lead is called Raziel!!!!)

Favourite Books;
Geisha of Gion, Battle Royale, The Hunger Games trilogy, Harry Potter, Empress Orchid, The Walking Dead, Death Note, a Dictionary of Angels, tonnes more I can't remember.

Of Darkness and Light Shadow of the Nephilim, #1) by Lily Crussell

I found myself instantly hooked in Elora world, The story is fast paced and full of action and very funny. I was completely enthralled with the characters and their development and loved the chemistry with Elora and each of the Angels in turn, Even the unique flirting with Lucifer.

You soon learn after Elora is attacked time and time again that she is a strong character.
"Lily Crussell " makes you feel like your right there with Elora in both her good times and Bad.
If you love angel stories make sure to give this book a try, Your be hooked in no time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slow to start, but great read. 13 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story centres around Elora, a young 17 year old girl who lives mostly on her own due to her parents travelling. She is attacked by an invisible force and then followed by a strange man (Raziel). She thinks the two might be connected but the stranger reads her mind and assures her he doesn't wish to harm her. Elora and Raziel become close, falling in love and Raziel acting as her protector against the unseen force who continues to attack Elora when she is on her own. One day Raziel disappears and Elora is kidnapped..

It took me a few days and several chapters to really get into the story. In the beginning I was able to put it down and that meant that sometimes I had to reread the last few pages again because I had forgotten what had happened. Once you get into the flow of the story it just seems to carry you right through to the end. At this point I couldn't put the book down.

Considering the book features Angels, Fallen Angels and Nephilim, religion doesn't feature heavily in the book. Yes she has a Christian friend and yes there is talk of God, but not enough to put the non-religious off reading the book.

I look forward to the second book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must have :) 22 Dec 2012

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What can I say that hasn't been said already. I got this book on a 'free download' weekend after my daughter had read it and said she thought I'd like it. She was not wrong! From the moment I started reading I didn't want to put it down!
I'm an avid reader and have written my own book, and can usually tell where a story is going in the first few chapters, but not with this book, from the first few chapters I was hooked, wanting to know more about Elora's world. I won't go into detail as I don't want to ruin the book for other readers... but I will say this... This book is a must have for any reader... and when it's available in paperback (or HB) I will be one of the first to buy that too to add to my collection :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomeness!! 12 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Okay so what can I say about this book other than it being one of the best books that I have ever read!! (I'm like so serious its up in the top 5)...Lily Crussell use's such great detail and description that I didn't feel like I was reading I felt as if I was watching a movie playing in my head. Elora grow so much throughout the book that I felt as if she were a real person. Not only does Lily make me fall in love with the characters but she makes me feel for them to.
I would wipe my memory clean just so I could have the chance to read it again as if it were the first time. My sister read the book as well and felt the same way that I did about it. (Which means a lot because she hate reading). So I guess what I'm trying to say is 'GO GET THIS BOOK'. You will not be disappointed. :)
