A well written book provides a fun and interesting tale of a world divided into three by the power of water. This book was not of the same style of writting as many of the fantasy books of this day and age. For a story of war and destruction, it seemed to have a lighter side to it. The characters and dialogue, especially the farie, were cute and entertaining. However, when Niles needed to the sense of desolation, desparation and defeat were communicated in such a way that the reader feels every emotion the characters do. Overall an excellent and very fun reading.

If you like science fiction adventures, then this book is for you. I literally could not put it down. This trilogy is the best I've ever read.
