I just want to start by saying that the person who wrote the review saying this book could not compare to the likes of Tolkien and others obviously has no tatse for pivotal literature. King's work in this set of books is a masterpiece, a true marvel of modern imagination and complex ideas.
King has used every technique under the sun to captivate his readers and bring them into this world where chaos reigns and fantasy becomes your very own living and sleeping reality. King has been able to captivate most who read his set of books and those who are capable of reading his works and seeing what King wrote between the lines knows that it takes a true genius to write a set of books which rival the works of all those who came before him.
Just like the work of Dickens, this piece of literture is truly unique and reveals so much more about life and our world than the most of us would like to think possible. Through his use of 'real' characters right down to the final gripping conclusion, King will have you reaching for the next book at 2am in the morning even though you don't know why.
To an aspiring writer, King truly makes a worthy role model. Those of us who share his passion for writing can only wish that one day we could write to the same calibre as King himself.

I chose this book thinking it would be a typical Stephen King novel,how wrong I was. After struggling to understand it's direction for the first chapter or so,I rarely put it down and became wrapped up in the whole adventure. I strongly recommend this superb book

This is a great series for all of those who think that King is not quite their type. One of the best fantasy works i've ever read. I don't give it 5 crowns because the next chapter hasn't been released, but it is surely one of the top books in my list of favourites.
