5.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Printing, 11 Jan 2009

This product is the second printing of the main rule book, from Fantasy Flight games rather than Black Industries. Fixes some of the errors in the 1st printing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Atmospheric as hell!, 31 Oct 2008
By Mr. P. D. Slack (North Yorkshire) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A decent rpg of warhammer 40,000 was a long time coming but i reckon it's here at last. Massive book packed full of great pictures & the appropraite dark gothic tone for the 40K universe and speaking of the universe, it's pretty big out there and the writers have focused in on the players being agents of the Inquisition.
The tone & sheer brutality of the setting lends itself to a futuristic call of cthulhu style of play; the rules governing insanity & corruption are excellent & set it apart from other sci-fi settings. It should never be about big battles or loads of tech toys; leave that to 40K battle games. The slow degeneration of an acolytes mind & soul seems inevitable given the adversaries being faced.
A brooding, gothic & essentially nihilistic feel is what i,m going for when i run this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark Heresy Core Rulebook, 16 Aug 2009
By P. Tattersdill - See all my reviews

A breath of fresh air into a setting which is only usually filled with space marines. Dark Heresy is an exceptionally good RPG, with brutal combats, an innovative system for corruption and insanity and a broad selection of character classes. It is also ideal for 40K fans simply due to the massive amount of fiction, artwork and diagrams. I'm keeping my eye's open for rogue trader, if it's as good as this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great looking book ...
This is a great looking book with some stunning artwork only let down by a clunky rules system.
