Product Description

Product Description

Serial killers, revenge seekers, trained assassins, and a rather sinister teddy bear... they’re all here in this chilling little collection of coffee break crime stories. There are ten in total - enough to get you through a fortnight of mid-morning coffee breaks.
Many of the tales will have your hair standing on end, but the author’s grim brand of humour is never far away.
So put the kettle on, break out the biscuits, and prepare to visit some dark places.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for coffee... 8 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First, a disclaimer... I know the author personally. He's been the writer and director of two amateur stage productions I've been involved with.

Dave has written two novels in a series (a third is coming, I'm told) which uniquely combine fantasy with detective mystery. I've enjoyed the novels and have always considered Dave to be a competent, skilled and entertaining writer.

This collection of short stories elevates my opinion of Dave to that of real genius.

Not all the stories are great... "Pink With Envy" is a weak start to the collection, but the next three stories are entertaining with novel twists.

But it's stories like "They Wouldn't Call It Murder", "The Boys of Summer", "Dark and Deep" and the amazing "Bad Day" that really excel, with wonderful character portraits, and dark and violent imagery and mood that you end up savouring after finishing the story.

This is more than a "coffee break" collection, it's a book well worth adding to your Kindle.
