Her Dark Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 1) [Kindle Edition]

I liked the idea, I wanted to like it. I couldn't finish it.
Now, the dark angel was pretty cool - I liked how he looked and would have been happy with a poster of him in the coffee shop, stretching his wings. Other than that, it bored me to death.
The plot is a few lines to hold the sex scenes together.
The angel got a few lines of character developement; the witch, not so much.
I get the feeling this is a young writter - not age wise, necessarily, but new to writting. She has a long way to go, but she's at least got a fair command of language and grammar.
I do not recommend this book.

Apollyon has spent centuries guarding the gates of hell and has been longing to be back on earth and able to fly again. He is lonely and spends his time watching events on earth while waiting for his master to call him. When he finally hears the call he is surprised to find it was not his master who called him. Serenity is a witch and is desperate to get revenge on her cheating ex-boyfriend. When she casts a vengeance spell the last thing she is expecting is a visit from the angel of death. Apollyon offers to help her get revenge on her ex but will their charade become more as the attraction between them blossoms?

Her Dark Angel is a novella and contains everything you'd expect from an erotic short story and makes a great quick read. While I enjoy smut I sometimes find that it is hard to connect to the characters in a novella, it can be difficult for an author to build much of an emotional connection between the characters in so few words. I have to say I think Felicity Heaton did a great job of showing the relationship between Apollyon and Serenity develop and although I would have loved to read more about these two I was very happy with the way things built between them.

I have to say I definitely fell for Apollyon - he is one HAWT angel. I absolutely loved the description of his wings and how it felt to fly - he could fly me off on a romantic date any day!! There are some scorching love scenes (I love kitchen & shower smex) & I was kept turning the pages to see how things turned out for the couple. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a quick, erotic paranormal romance and am very much looking forward to reading Her Fallen Angel.

Apollyon has watched over the humans from his pool in Hell for centuries, and it has been just as long since he was last summoned by his master. While watching the pool he notices a beautiful young woman, and she captivates him in a way no-one else ever has before. When he finally receives a summons he finds himself in Paris, face to face with the beauty who has haunted him for so long. Apollyon is shocked when he realises that it was the woman herself who called to him. And his shock intensifies when he discovers that his new human master is in fact a witch and can see his true form. The more time he spends in Serenity's presence the more he desires her, and soon finds himself falling for her in ways he had never before imagined. All I can say about this man is Grr... I love him in all his sexy Angelness... lol.

Serenity is a witch, one who has had her heart broken by her asshat of a boyfriend. In her grief she prays for revenge and comes face to face with the Angel of Death himself. Once her fear has subsided Serenity uses Apollyon to make her ex, Edward, jealous. But she never expects to fall in love with her pawn. And when her plan is successful Serenity worries that Apollyon will have to leave, breaking her heart all over again. I really like this woman. She is so cool, brave and powerful.

I really loved this book!! There wasn't any action in it, but the romance made up for it in spades. I enjoyed watching Apollyon and Serenity's relationship grow and steam up the pages. I felt for him all locked up in Hell thinking he'd never fall in love like so many of his brothers-in-arms, kind of sad to not want to find that - we all crave someone to love and love us back. So you can imagine my joy when he finally met Serenity and fell for her hard. I also felt for poor Serenity and her broken heart - damn asshat Edward. That fool got what he deserved, and Apollyon got me hot in the process... lol.

There were so many great scenes in this book. Like when they have their steamy dance in the club to make Edward jealous but end up turning each other on instead. And then when Apollyon takes Serenity for a wee fly around Paris. And then of course when they finally make love!! Ohh... when they arrive at Serenity's apartment Apollyon sleeps on the couch and she in her own bed. But she can't sleep and ends up spying on her sleeping hunk. I swear I peed my pants laughing when he caught her and she ran hiding under her duvet. So funny!! Well, as you can imagine he walks into her room gloriously naked to see what was wrong, one thing leads to another, and the greatest sex ever ensues. Grr...

Okay, enough of my perverted mind. Go ease your own dirty minds and read this book. It's a steamy romance that you will all love.
