This is a wonderful book in every way: the very likeable and believable leads, the background, the mystery of the tale, and the paranormal touch and HEA. It is only my 4th tale of the author's, but this is easily the best compared to 3* Release, 3.5* Sweet Restraint and 4* Subtle Magic.

Ryan Daire, a cop in present day America has been left a dilapidated historic mansion by his old college professor and mentor, and initially he thinks to renovate and sell it, but after a weird episode of deja-va/paranormal 'did I just, or did I not just see/feel/experience...' whilst staying there overnight, he decides to renovate it for himself.

In one of his dreams at the house, he finds himself in bed with a beautiful woman, making love, but then reality intrudes when his partner beeps his horn outside, and Dare realises that he has been dreaming...or has he? In fact, it is more mysterious than dreaming, as two dimensions seem to co-exist in the house, one in present day, and one of the time when the professor lived in the house...with his young beuatiful, feisty, passionate daughter, Hope.

Via a magical mirror in one of the bedrooms, Daire is able to enter the past where he meets the woman of his dreams, who is alive in her time. Through the mirror, even when in the present, he is able to touch Hope...and to physically make love to her, and boy, what a hot scene that is. Strange, as part of him was in the house in the present, an a very important part of him was poking out of the mirror at the other side, making passionate love to Hope!! And yes, she can reciprocate...and it is made all the more erotic as she has not locked the door and her elderly aunts are looking for her and might come upon her at any time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story 8 Sep 2013

Well written escapism with depth of characters and plenty of heat to keep it entertaining, but even without the erotic elements it is a book well worth reading

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best or hottest Kery I've read 27 Sep 2011
By S. Richards TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
I like love stories with a supernatural twist, but this one didn't do a lot for me. After I sampled this story on my kindle, I wanted to read it right away. I was very intrigued by Ryan, a tough, dominant vice cop who is given this mansion by an elderly family friend. Once Ryan moves in, he begins seeing images of Hope.

Hope is not really a ghost. From what I got from the story, Hope is in 1906 and Ryan is in 2008, yet they seemed to be co-existing in this same house, just in different time periods. So instead of a love/ghost romance, it is more a time travel romance. Ryan and Hope seem to have this connection between them, as if the house is a string tying them to each other, a string pulled by Destiny.

As Ryan and Hope travel from 1906 to 2008 and back, various mysteries of how they met, the deja vu, the erotic photos, the sense of familiarity and the closeness they feel are explained, as is the idea of how a soul can transcend one place and time and, in essence, be eternal.

Although, I liked Ryan and Hope well enough, I didn't feel a strong connection to them. There is just something missing for me. Maybe it's Ryan's relunctance to take the leap, as he called it, and ask Hope to stay. For a dominant man, he was almost faint-hearted in this instance, at least in my opinion. He can believe that he time-travelled, but then he finds it hard to believe that Hope can cope with 2008 and make a life with him? He seemed a little weak to me there, in that scene.

And, at the ending, I know it is implied, but I still would have liked to have had some I love you's exchanged, considering all they had been through, the time-travel, the abductions, being held at gun point, etc. I wanted more there.
