Back in the days when House music was "enjoyable" and was a delight to listen to this gem come off of Defected home of artists like The Shapeshifters, coming from without any doubt "THE BEST ERA OF HOUSE MUSIC" when every vocal was by Sheena and every bassline was funky, when each breakdown created a smile on your face (the kind that made you look as though you selpt with a coat hangar in your mouth), and such a great sound.
This track has got to be one of the most difinitive tracks that marked this "sounds" era, obviously there are other tracks out there too that are up as high in quality as this...some to mention i.e. 1000 years, the weekend and watch you (Ian Carey remix). Really however you buy this record straight away wether your a casual listner, club dj, superstar dj, club goer, music producer or sound engineer you know deep down that this track is one of the few milestones that made this era of dance music.
As you may of seen in some of my other reviews i have treated House (Commercial/Mainstream music) with little respect, and this is just why, when you compare the quality of House music over the last decade or so. The last 6 years the House scene (commercial) has gone dead! There are a few hidden funky House gems about in the underground scenes in Dance music, but in the last 6 years the best music has been pushed underground as pop artists have abused House music again. It seems artists need to be taking what they took and do what they did back in the days of great the Funky Disco House music scene like this ;) The world would be a better place!
