Product Description

Product Description

This variation of Jane Austen’s beloved Pride and Prejudice starts with Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet literally running into each other in the mud outside of Darcy’s friend’s house at Netherfield. Immediately Miss Bennet and he start to argue and neither person is willing to back down. Things go from bad to worst and both Elizabeth and Darcy soon come inside covered in mud.

Their attraction to one another is gradual and so are the first time feelings they have, for neither have loved before. Elizabeth considers Darcy proud and haughty but her beliefs began to change as she learns more about him. She is fascinated that a man of such a high station might be interested in her. Still, her mother has plans for her to marry her cousin, Mr. Collins.

Darcy watches her closely, for he believes that he met her in town years earlier when she was a young girl. Elizabeth also believes she has seen Darcy before. Soon, dark events work to separate Elizabeth and her sister, Jane, from Mr. Darcy and his friend.

Emotions run wild as the sisters and their male friends try to discover who is behind the plots to pull the couples apart. There are more arguments ahead and much angst as well as the couples work to salvage their relationships.

1.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't even finish it 28 Nov 2013

This book was that bad that I couldn't even finish it. If you are a lover of Jane Austen's work then don't even attempt this book. I have read many good adaptations and please believe me that this is not one of them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sample was the best part of the book 25 Jun 2013

I'm not in the habit of giving negative reviews - or of letting other reviews put me off buying something that looks interesting, but I'll make an exception this time in the hope i'll save someone money - because i'm feeling quite robbed. I read the sample & thought 'first novel' it should improve as it develops & I like giving new authors a chance. With those thoughts clearly understood, my opinion is simple - this book is bad. Not 'needs work", has some grammar problems, needs proof reading, lacks continuity or plot reality (On her Aunt Gardiners advice EB walks from Cheapside to Mayfair alone to confront D about his supposed intentions) - its just plain & simple BAD. Read the phone book or the microwave manual, you'll get more entertainment &/or value from doing so! I want the time I spent reading this 'story' back!! (I'm not giving it the tittle of "book"). I'd like my money back too, but there is no method or justification for a refund because a book is bad - it's a hazard of ebooks that you can't flick to other parts of a book & then put it down & continue browsing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sloppy 29 Jun 2013

The premise of the story was good, but it was so abbreviated, never fully expanded on the story or characters. The writer mixed up Longbourn and Netherfield twice, called, Miss Bingley, Miss Bennet.I'm no writer, but I think I could have done a better job on this one!!!! Sorry but 2 stars is generous.

This read more like a plot synopsis than a short novel. The story is good, the execution not so much. I wish fanfiction writers would rely less on autospell and more on dictionaries!

2.0 out of 5 stars FEELS UNFINISHED 4 July 2013
By Lizzybelle - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In general, I enjoyed the story. The way trouble was caused for the couples was an interesting twist. I would have liked to have made their arrest and punishment more detailed. Also, though Lizzy and Darcy are destined for each other, several of their conversations are ridiculous. They don't resolve their arguments and switch to liking each other/being happy in the middle of heated arguments. Not too many typos or grammatical errors.

Interesting concept. The author was better with story than dialogue . Some word spelling was not as it should be and L ongbourne and Netherfield were consistently being confused .
