Book Description

31 Mar 2011
Dannii Minogue first appeared on television aged seven. She signed her first record deal at the age of seventeen and ever since she has been wowing audiences around the world with her charm and her charisma. The daughter of a dancer mother, Dannii found the spotlight early and discovered a passion for entertaining that has never faded. After early soap opera appearances, including Home and Away, a string of chart hits in the early 90s (Love And Kisses, Success, Jump To The Beat, Baby Love, This Is It ...) launched Dannii as an established pop singer before she then re-invented herself as one of the world's most popular female dance acts. Most recently, she has found a new army of loving fans as a judge on The X Factor, where she has charmed audiences with her sincerity, compassion and warmth. Her recent emotional Pier's Morgan interview was watched by a record-breaking six million viewers. In this very personal and uplifting autobiography, Dannii talks openly for the first time about the highs and lows of her 30 year career; her marriage and subsequent divorce to Julian McMahon; the trials and tribulations of her role as an X Factor judge; her relationship with sister Kylie and, of course, becoming a mother. Explosively revealing, Dannii Minogue: My Story is set to be the autobiography of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dannii: My Story 30 Sep 2010
Format:Hardcover
I have been hoping to read an autobiography from Dannii for a long time now, and I think it's perfect that she has chosen to release one at this point in her life. As a massive Dannii fan there were a lot of things in the book that I already knew about and I enjoyed reading these stories from Dannii's perspective. The parts of the book which I enjoyed the most were the stories which Dannii had not shared before or that, being sixteen years old and only around for not even half of her fabulous career, I had not been aware of. My favorite parts were reading about her childhood on Young Talent Time in Australia, how her different albums came about, the tough times during her life that have shaped her to be who she is today and reading about how happy she now is with Kris and baby Ethan.
As I turned each page the book was so well written that I could imagine Dannii's Aussie accent reading aloud in my head and I breezed through its 35 jam-packed, fun, glamorous and often emotional chapters in 7 hours cover to cover.
I am sure that all Dannii fans who buy the book will be as happy with it as I am. However, I also hope that people who may not be Dannii's biggest fans or may have come to believe misconceptions about Dannii and her career will pick up the book and find out the truth about her, and her amazing, inspirational story.
As Miss Minogue very accurately wrote on the back cover: You may think you know all there is to know about me, but I dare you to turn the first page."

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read 1 Oct 2010
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I preordered Dannii's book in advance as I have been a huge fan of hers for years and wanted to read the book as soon as it came out(Also it just happened to be my birthday the day it came out)

It arrived on the day and it was so good I couldn't put it down. It was funny, warm, sad in parts but mainly real.

There are alot of things in the book that Dannii went through that nobody except close friends and family knew about.

Makes me realise how, strong, caring and classy Dannii really is.

This book is a must for any Dannii fan.
