Dr. McGee was an excellent Bible expositor. 19 Nov. 2002
By Rocco B. Rubino - Published on
Format: Paperback
His work on Daniel was no exception. Although it does not go into any great theological depth (then again why does it have to?), this commentaryis an excellent introduction to this mysterious, prophetic book.
"Comparing spiritual things with spiritual," Dr. McGee eschews pointless speculation, and fantastic theorizing in order to present a clear picture of this book, which is that it is the gateway book to endtime Bible prophecy.
This book is ideal for a daily devotional guide, as well as a group study guide. I would certainly use it either way.
If the commentary on Daniel is indicative of the way his other commentaries are written, I will be purchasing more of the late J. Vernon McGee's books.

Daniel explained in a down home manner. 21 Sept. 2013
By Sue - Published on
Format: Paperback
I am involved in an extensive study of Revelation and decided to step back and review the prophecy of Daniel. I picked McGee because he is easy to read yet spot on in his Orthodox theology. McGee's three charts were very helpful and assisted in the overall understanding of the various visions of Daniel. I recommend any work by McGee highly. My understanding of Revelation is indeed enhanced.

If you like to study the bible, then add J Vernon McGee to your list of authors. His books takes one book of the bible verse-by-verse and explains what it means. I am learning so much from his books.

This is a great seller. Highly recommend. Book came in excellent condition.

Superb 19 Sept. 2013

All McGEE Commentaries are Wonderful.
If you love the Holy Bible and want to study it in depth, yet appreciate common, understandable English, this is for you. It is not Cliff Notes style. It is a thorough study of the subject presented by the man I consider to be one of the greatest Bible teachers of all time.
Bring back God as the focus for our Country, not man. 11 July 2015
By Alan D. Shaffer - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
J. Vernon McGee always has a unique way of giving us a picture of God's Word in a way that electrifies it. He is filled with the Holy Spirit and is obviously driven to say what many in the churches today will not touch. The United States was founded on God as our leader, but Washingtonians in the think they are the reason for maintaining our country, not God. This is shown over and over in the Bible and wherever the leader or leaders think they are doing what is best without God's direction just as King Nebuchadnezzar did for Babylon shown by Daniel it is "Katy bar the door" and down they went and so will we if the Marxists and atheists that surround Obama are not removed. God made a mockery of the most powerful nation that destroyed Israel and Jerusalem and the prophecies in Daniel show it will happen to empire after empire if they do as the unbelievers want and not what God wants.
