with all of sabrina jefferies previous work i find myself starting on the first page and sitting in the same spot for hours until i have finished. a dangerous love was no exception.

the heroine, rosalind is the typical strong independent female who looks after her family and will do anything for them, but would also like to pursue her dream of going into acting and the theatre, like her mother. sadly her father, the earl, is dying and as he has no sons the estate is entailed to a relation, griff knighton.
griff has worked his way from pauper to rich man.
when he is summoned to the estate of the earl with a disagreeble proposal he trades places with daniel, his second in command (and hero of a notorious love). which leads to some genuinely funny scenes.

both the hero and heroine are well written and enjoyable and deserve each other completely. jefferies writes well and draws you effortlessly into the book and the lives of griff and rosalind.

it is a must for any fan of the writer or romance itself. i found myself laughing out loud and crying in parts and when i finished it was with a sigh and an eager anticipation for the next in the series. i would definitly recommend this book.

not a bad read but nothing much to it we have a hero who sees heroine and decide from that moment to be in constant arousal about her!the is no reason why he sees her and decided he wants her end of and cant control himself being physically aroused all the time!!! the only reason i did not give it one star is because i like the fact that the lead hero acts on his emotions and does not play prim and proper as does the heroine that made it for a light sex romp if your looking for more though you will not get it in this book !!!i am fascinated to read helen's story though Griffs man of business sounds quite yummy!!!??

'm doing some re-reading of Sabrina Jeffries' books this week and I've enjoyed this set more the second time around.

The first in The Swanlea Spinsters Series focuses on self-made man Griff Knighton, who had his legitimacy ripped away from him when he was a young baby by the current Earl of Swanlea. Why? That is the puzzle that will eventually be solved within this storyline.

Although Griff is now the owner of a highly successful trading company, he's never forgotten his early days when he and his mother were belittled for his bastard status. The Earl of Swanlea is now dying and he's decided he can fix some wrongdoing and make sure his daughters' future is secured all in one fell swoop. To this end, he summons Griff to Swanlea Park to persuade him to marry one of his daughters, before he gives up documents proving Griff is the heir to the earldom.

However, Griff has set his own plan in motion. Griff has long known the earldom should have passed to him and he wants his parents' marriage certificate and he doesn't want it tied into marriage to one of the Swanlea Spinsters, lovely though they may be. The girls are Helena, beautiful eldest daughter who is crippled due to a bout with polio, Rosalind, Amazonian extraordinaire, the one who runs the estate and youngest daughter Juliet, who is the beauty of the family and the one the old Earl has picked out for Griff, believing she will be the most tempting morsel.

When Griff sets up his Man of Affairs, Daniel, to switch places with him during their week long visit to Swanlea Park, the book turns into a five star story. Sabrina Jeffries literally has the ability to see into the psyche of the male mind as she portrays Griff's and Daniel's bantering back and forth throughout this storyline.

I was very disappointed with this book, it seemed very slow moving I did not find the characters remotely engaging, I could not wait to finish it, I am the sort who will finish a book even though I am bored by it, as I paid for it, but it was hard work. I am quite happy to have sex scenes described in books but in this book it went on for pages and pages and were thus boring I skipped these pages. Very little happened in this book until the end. would not read this author again.

This was the first of her books that i have read. It was very good and led me to look for her other books. it easy to read, the pace was fast and very few boring bits. The heroine was spunky and willing to look after herself and is brave enough to admit and apologise when she is wrong. The hero was mysterious, a real man and fun to read about. try it.
