Edge of your seat action, European high fashion, and all kinds of seriously steamy luvin'. When you sit down don't plan on getting back up, it's going to be a wild ride you won't want to miss.
DANGEROUS CURVES is about Selena Russo, a plus-size high fashion model embarking on a fashion shoot throughout Europe. When Selena's life is threatened, the fashion house hires a bodyguard, Logan, to protect their multimillion-dollar investment.
I loved that the story was about a confident rubenesque woman who held the world in her hand. I can't think of another story about a larger size woman where the woman never worried about getting naked in front of a lover or the few extra pounds she carried. How totally refreshing! Thank you, Cherie De Sues, for finding another way to give Selena a real sense of flawed humanity without it having to be about her weight or shape for the whole book. *Climbs on desk to give a standing ovation*
Selena was my kind of woman. She owned who she was: body, mind, and spirit. The consummate professional, even under the threat of death, Selena was committed to finishing the shoot and honoring her contract. Selena is the kind of role model I hope my daughter has that she can look up to as she ages. Even though Selena was a queen bee, she never acted like a diva or treated anyone with anything other than respect and caring. She worked hard, endured much, and came to the set prepared to give everything she had to producing amazing pictures that sold the fashion.
Logan worked undercover as her photographer. He found a way to put her at ease in the most challenging of circumstances and the playfulness between the two transferred not only into photographic success, but a chemistry that wouldn't be denied. I think the photo shoot was just foreplay for these two and frankly I'm surprised the lens didn't melt from the heat.
As strong and enjoyable as the romance was, I have to admit to liking the suspense and mystery part of the story just as well. Who is stalking Selena? Why? Will she survive? The questions just kept swirling through my head and as soon as I thought I had an answer, it was debunked and I was back to square one. That's why I couldn't put this one down. The steam was amazing but the intrigue was driving me crazy.
The end was a delightful surprise. I guess I could have figured it out if I'd been more alert, but it came as a shocker to me. And the Logan/Selena drama hits a peak right when you think they will get their happily ever after. Not to worry, I had my satisfaction and designer shoes too. All's well that ends well. And what's not to love when designer shoes are involved?
This one is for everyone out there who loves a kick-ass heroine who sports stiletto shoes, not stiletto knives, and who is more comfortable with the shooting of a camera than a gun. Both deserve the alpha man in the end, this one deserves the picket fence, too. Enjoy!
