Product Description

When Anne Lambert first moves to London she’s intent on enjoying her first experience living in a foreign country. Her busy new life takes a wrong turn, however, when a chance encounter with her next door neighbor drags her into the machinations of London’s upper class.

Jimmy Soames is stinking rich and from one of England’s oldest aristocratic families, but he’s also an unloved alcoholic, barely acknowledged by his family and forgotten by his friends. When he’s found floating in the Thames with a bashed-in skull he’s neither mourned nor missed.

But someone needs to be blamed for his death. Jimmy was the eldest son and heir of Lord and Lady Soames, and millions are at stake. A patsy is needed, and Jimmy’s family decides that Anne will fit the role nicely.

Pleasantly Cozy 20 Dec 2011
By pat1360 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
www.murder is a very pleasant way to while away an afternoon or two. The main character, Anne, muddles convincingly through the mystery with the humorous help of her co-workers. Throw in an English country house, a public school, and an unsavory noble family for a little spice. I especially liked the descriptions of the settings for a bit of story grounding. I enjoyed the book and characters enough that I'm hoping for a sequel. I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.

Happy with the title change 7 Mar 2012
By JMT - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was originally entitled www.Murder and I was pleased to see that it has been changed to the name "Danger Next Door". I think the new title is much more befitting considering there wasn't a whole lot of world wide web usage in the book. The book is an easy read and keeps the reader engaged throughout the mystery. I do think that the characters were a bit shallow and could have been developed a bit more, especially those with the motives for committing murder. Ann, the main character, also could have used a bit more fleshing out. We know she is a programmer, but that is about it. We want to know more about her so that we can identify with her more (and identify more with the choices she makes in the book). Overall, I think Langman does a nice job of creating a murder mystery but it still feels a bit unfinished. I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.

Engaging story 19 Oct 2011
By JoJo431 - Published on Amazon.com

The only thing I didn't like about this book is the title since it appears to have no tie in with the story. The main character, Anne just wants to do her job and learn more about the new city she finds herself in. But her next door neighbor gives her the creeps for no apparent reason. But the evidence that convinces her that he's no good keeps piling up and before she knows it, she finds herself and everyone around her in mortal danger. She is an unlikely action hero, but circumstances draw her tighter and tighter into the web of murder and deceipt. Her determination to solve the mystery held my interest from the first page to the last. Full of likeable characters that I found myself caring about and a story full of twists and turns made for a very delightful read. I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.
