4.0 out of 5 stars Delightful Ditto 21 May 2012

Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
I wasn't sure whether this would be what I had been looking for for a while and whether it would do the job I wanted it to do so I was a bit apprehensive. I was even more apprehensive when I opened the box and found the minimal instructions provided! I decided that I would look online for a setup guide and found that this helped. Initial setup was a little but fiddly but not too difficult and certainly OK for the non-expert in IT.
I wanted this to access my music over my wireless Sonos system when my computer was switched off. Transferring the music was a bit of a pain and some albums were skipped for some reason. However, the unit works like a dream with the music that is on there and once I have the time to trawl through my folders and find out what's missing and transfer them over I'm sure everything will eventually be hunky-dory.
Nice, unobtrusive, quiet and cool, this is a fantastic little unit that is seemingly doing the job for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks Cheap But Functions Reliably 25 Sep 2012
By S. Porter VINE™ VOICE
Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
This NAS drive is easy to set and runs quietly enough in the background and it streams media well across the network. The USB keys are a quirky feature but they help prevent little hands from playing and innocently wiping your files in error. The device is fairly clunky and cheap looking, but it has a reassuring weightiness. In the end looks are unimportant, the device runs well and for me it has proven itself to be reliable.

2.0 out of 5 stars I think I'm using this wrong 6 Aug 2012
By Mad Saint Uden VINE™ VOICE
Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
This was easy to set up and install. However daily use is not so good. On my home network anyone on any PC/Laptop/Netbook/Tablet can access all the files without needing a password or log in. When I take the usb key out and about I only need to plug it in and again do not need the username or password as it logs me right in. So this makes a great storage device BUT I wouldn't keep sensitive or private info on it as all it would need is for me to loose the key and the finder can get right in a delete or copy my stuff.

Also when this arrived one of the hard drives was not seated properly & it was rattling. Who ever had installed the hard drive had managed to pull out one of the clips and bend it out of shape. I was unable to replace the clip (well I'd have to disassemble the entire unit) but as there are four clips for each HDD this was ok to just take out the rattling, floating piece of metal that had been left inside the unit.

We had a power cut and after this is was quite tricky to get this started again as it needed to be reset, twice.

It does look good. Although it's quite bricky and square it is geek chic and doesn't need to be hidden anywhere.
