..along with B-Side Babies (which is most of Adam's punk stuff modernised by Marco Pirroni/Chris Hughes (Merrick) which were B-sides of his hit singles). Check out the Goddard-written-pre-fame Ligotage, Hampstead, Rubber People, Bathroom Function, Deutscher Girls (before they changed one of the words!) etc, if you can find them, though some of the lyrics are not for sensitive ears!
This has all the Adam Ant/And The Ants songs I loved in my youth; though it ignores the first album Dirk Wears White Sox (worth finding and listening to) it has material from Kings Of The Wild Frontier, Prince Charming, Friend Or Foe, Strip and Vive Le Rock.
Adam is and was an ICON. It's criminal the UK press treat him as a joke, he really could write brilliant songs with or without Marco. He was/is beautiful, charming, stylish, humble, wrote some amazing lyrics, took charge of his videos, costumes, badges, sleeve designs..People don't realise just how creative he was and how much input he had.
I have just about everything he ever brought out on vinyl (and a CD single of Room At The Top) and still listen to his music. I'm so glad to say Manners & Physique isn't on here, at all. It's the only album of his I hated (but the b-sides Brand New Torso and Bruce Lee were really good!).
The only bad thing is, A Man Called Marco ISN'T on this. If it was, it would be perfect.
Vive Le Adam!
