Featuring over 50 songs this time around, including contributions from high-profile acts such as Kylie Minogue, Chaka Khan and S Club, Dancing Stage Party Edition is a welcome and expansive addition to the popular dance-game franchise. The game works by throwing up symbols on screen, which indicate where you need to move your feet on the Logic 3 dance mat included in this bundle. Effectively it's as simple as that. Consistently have your feet where they're supposed to be, when they're supposed to be there, and your score will be high. Keep messing it up, and your boogie will have a habit of ending prematurely.
The complications are injected when the tempo is upped, and the game demands that you simply move quicker to keep up. But even when the game's sheer novelty factor is exhausted, there's plenty of reason to keep going thanks to the gradually increasing challenge that it presents. And frankly, Dancing Stage Party Mix is as compulsively entertaining as its predecessors. It particularly hits top gear when two players can dance head to head--though this requires two dance mats. Even the fitness-tailored single-player Workout mode works well.
The game's only real limit comes when you've worked your way through all the songs, and even then it's going to take some time to do that. Aside from that, this is polished, very enjoyable fun that virtually all gamers can warm to. And as an added bonus, it's ample evidence to point under the nose of the next snide git who declares they don't make good games for the PSone any more. --Simon Brew

Dancing Stage Party Edition is part of Konami's family-orientated Bemani range of music titles. Using the Spectravideo dance mat included (or any other dance mat, or indeed a standard controller) players must press the relevant buttons as they appear on the screen. Bonuses are awarded for free-style moves, with additional tracks and hidden items unlocked as the game progresses.
Four main gameplay modes allow the user to play a straight conversion of the arcade game, practise with certain tracks, master the basics via a tutorial mode or even lose weight with the Workout mode, assisted by the on-screen calorie counter). Players can also compete against each other using two mats or a separate controller, with each aiming to accrue more points than their rival.
Dancing Stage Party Edition features 51 songs, among them Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out of My Head", "Don't Stop Movin'" by S Club 7, Rufus and Chaka Khan's "You Got the Love" and contributions from the Cardigans and the Bloodhound Gang plus original tracks from Konami Japan.
Both game and dance mat are compatible with both PSone and PlayStation 2.

Great fun and value for money,

I got this bundle because it was cheaper than buying them seperately, and a wise choice! The game is very easy to master and has a section that teaches you the steps you will need to successfully complete a song with minimal errors. Each song shows a measure of the speed and you can choose the level of difficulty you want the steps to be. There's even a fat burning section where you can count the calories you're burning! It's suitable for all ages so the whole family can join in the fun. You will need quite a bit of space, as the mat moves on carpet as you're jumping up and down so you'll have to be careful it doesn't pop out the front of the playstation.

As someone who is 30 something and not the fittest person in the world I can highly recommend this as a fun way to get fit. The lessons are brilliant, easy to follow and progress at a good pace. You'll soon be tempted to have a go at a full song, but if you finish all the lessons then you'll pick up some good tips on dance moves to help you keep up.At first all the arrows seem daunting but once you've completed the lessons you'll see you don't have to move quite so frantically as first thought!! My only criticism is the choice of songs. It says over 50 but it seems to be a similar selection whatever mode you're in and some do seem completely impossible!! Maybe if you're 8 years old it's easy, I don't know! There are some good ones in there though, S-Club 7, Kylie, The Cardigans, all of which aren't too taxing. Once you've finished a level you get such a buzz and won't even realise you've been exercising - highly addictive!

Are you a big fan of computer games, but fearful of the activity you are missing out on as you stare at that screen? This is the perfect solution; simply plug the dance mat into your PS1 or 2 console and keep fit as you play. With childhood (and indeed adult) obesity on the increase, partly caused by too many hours in front of the television or playing computer games, activity levels need to drastically increase and this is one purchase that will help, as well as providing a lot of fun for the player.The game itself is, in my opinion, much better value for money than its predecessor, Dancing Stage Euromix. There are a whopping 51 tracks for you to choose from and some of them are taken from Euromix, anyway, so you would be far better off buying this game. There are various game play modes, from your standard Game Mode to Training Mode, where you can brush up on your dancing skills step by step, and Workout Mode, which contains a handy calorie counter if you wish to keep track of how much you are burning off, so to speak. Indeed, there is so much choice within this game that virtually any playing options are possible: you can assemble numerous four-track playlists that will run without breaks while you dance, or even create a dance of your own to one of the tracks, although this feature is quite difficult to grasp. The tracks are, on the whole, very enjoyable and varied. As well as the classics from the arcades, such as "End of the century" and "Paranoia" there are chart favourites like "Don't stop movin'" by S Club 7 and "The bad touch" by the Bloodhound Gang. There are also quite a lot of hidden tracks which can be uncovered after considerable dancing success, and most of these are well worth a listen. Dancing Stage Party Edition is practically flawless. I have only awarded this bundle four stars because of the limited endurance of the actual dance mat; mine has taken on a life of its own and sometimes keys do not work, but this may be due to my ever increasing in exertion dance sessions as I work my way up the levels of difficulty... in fact, I may just be addicted to this fantastic game.
