A well-written tale of 'alternative' life in the seventies. I got hooked early on and enjoyed the episodes, trials and dramas of the all the characters. Tessa is a likeable, believable main character. A shame Helen seemed to possess no redeeming qualities. Okay, so you kind of know what is going to happen by the mid-section of this novel but it is still a very good, entertaining read.
