Book Description

Missy Malone has had a great summer, watching her friends meet wonderful guys and fall in love. She even has a wonderful guy in her own life. Trouble is, he's only in her life to mentor her son, Scot. She just has to stop daydreaming that he could be as good for her as he is for Scot. What would he ever see in her anyway? She's a broke single mom who talks too much, while he's a quiet, shy, tech genius. And besides...he has a girlfriend!

On paper, Dan Benson has a great life in San Jose. His software development company, his penthouse apartment, his car, and his girlfriend are all supposed to make him feel happy and successful. None of them do. Until he started visiting Summer Lake, he'd always been more comfortable around computers than people. These days he's comfortable hanging out with his brother, Jack, and his friends. He feels successful when he's helping Scot. Most of all, he's happier than he's ever been, when he can spend time with Missy.

Will the attraction between them be enough to overcome the differences and obstacles that stand in their way?

The Summer Lake series follows a group of friends from a small lakeside town in the California hills. They have kept in touch over the years and now, in their early thirties, their lives are drawing them back to Summer Lake and to each other.

This book is intended for adult readers 18+

More About the Author

Hi, I'm SJ, a coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.

I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.

I write 'Sweet N Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.

These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way :0)

5.0 out of 5 stars This series keeps getting better 29 Jun. 2014
By Anne M
Format:Kindle Edition
Sigh!! First we met Jack handsome and an all round good guy, then Pete the hot alpha. Now we got to meet Dan, ah Dan, sexy, geeky, caring, gentle, I could go on. I love this series, it's so nice to be reunited with old friends in each of the books. This is the story of Dan and Missy and how their love blossomed from friendship into forever.
What I like most about this series is the fact that they are all "traditional" love stories with a bit of added spice. Told in the third person they make a refreshing change from all the first person angsty books that are around at the moment.

I'm a huge fan of SJ McCoy and had been waiting for the 3rd instalment with great anticipation, but was left a bit disappointed! Some how this story didn't work as well as the other two....maybe it got formulae?! I don't know. Anyway I'll wait to see what the 4th one is like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love a good love story 3 May 2014

I have loved everyone of SJ's books. Dan and Missy's story is so heart warming. Dan is a very smart man and struggled with interacting with people but he manages. He builds a great relationship with Scott and Miss.
Miss is a strong independent women and has always been that way.
These two are complete opposites but they work and bring out hidden qualities in each other. This is a great love story and a great read can't wait to read more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another enchanting book in this brilliant series 17 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I was given this complimentary book by the author for an honest review. If you are a fan of SJ McCoy books, then you will not be disappointed by this book, this book is as enchanting as the two other books in the series. This book follows Dan and Missy's story, but you also catch up on the rest of the gang as well. Dan is Jacks brother and has visited summer lake for a while. Whilst there he has become close to Scot who is Missy's son, Scot looks up to him and Missy loves the bond that Dan shares with her son. Dan has also grown close to Missy and the feeling is becoming mutual. Dan wants to take care of them both but Missy is fiercely independent. Can they have a relationship together, are they compatible and how will it affect her son. A great book yet again. A must read.

So love this series. When I'm reading them I feel as though I am actually in Summer Lake and part of the friendships as well. SJ McCoy has a real affinity with her characters and makes you love each and every one of them. I have been waiting for Missy and Dan's story and it didnt disappoint. Roll on the next installment.

After reading the first two books, I went to download (dance like nobody is watching), and after reading the reviews one person had wrote that it as all about gaming. I nearly left this book out and skip to the fourth book. I'm so glad I went with my instinct, I does not go on about gaming, only refers to them going to play a game.... the book is about Danny and miss, there love story well worth a read x x

Missy has brought her son up on her own since she fell pregnant at 17. She meets a man who is the brother of one of her best friends boyfriend, but there are factors in the situation that prevent him for first of all getting together with her, even though he is a very good computer chap who is helping out Missy's son who is also a very good computer "nerd so to speak
