Product Description

The Dan Reed network were formed in 1984 when school friends and fellow Nightwing band mates Dan Reed and Dan Pred both ended up living in Portland. Along with guitarist Brion James, bassist Melvin Brannen and keyboardist Jeff Siri who left in 1985 and was replaced by Rick DiGiallonardo, formerly of Quarterflash. The group went on to release an independent EP, and within two years had signed with Polygram. Their self titled debut album was recorded with producer Bruce Faibairn, DiGallonardo having been replaced by Blake Sakamoto. Their first single Ritual became a Top 40 hit in 1988 and a subsequent tour built upon their success. But by 1993 group members were pursuing solo careers, after the limited success of the second album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated!! 22 Nov 2003
By deeman
Format:Audio CD
I believe Dan Reed network to be one of the most underrated bands to enter the scene.
This is their debut 1988 album re-released, with 2 bonus remixes. With their very unique, funky style this album is great from start to finish although at times can sound a little dated. Nonetheless the quality of the songs and musicianship shine through.

5.0 out of 5 stars You can't fail to like these guys! 3 Mar 2004
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I first heard Dan Reed Network's album back in the early 90's, and was immediately hooked by the funky-rock tribal sound of the album. From the first rap-style seconds through to rocking riffs further in, this album should be on everyones must have list! So underated and too easily dismissed. If you're reading this, then you're already tempted! Go on, give it a go! Their following albums have had a lot to follow, and often fell short of the mark. This, however, does not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dan Reed Rock! 15 Jun 2007
Format:Audio CD
I first came across this band in the early 90's and have been hooked ever since! They are feel good records which you can't help but love and sing along too - now over 15 years later I can still put them on and go back to the good old days and SMILE!!! If there's one thing you try then give Dan Reed a chance... I promise you will not be disappointed...the sound is rock, funky and full of energy and the lead singer's voice is totally amazing! Well worth a listen :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality 10 July 2013

Had this on casette originally, and decided to repurchase after seeing Dan play solo. This album is as good as I remember, not quite up with Slam, but still a funked up rock fest.
