Product Description

Review

"Interweaving tales of battle and reflections on what it means to be a professional killer, Denver crafts an awe-inspiring sketch of soldierly excellence." (Publishers Weekly)

"If you've ever wished you could read the testament of a Jedi Knight, here it is. Damn Few takes us inside the mind of a born warrior. This is timeless stuff, worthy of being read in the era of Caesar, Alexander, Leonidas-or a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away." (Steven Pressfield, author of 'Gates of Fire' and 'The War of Art')

After reading No Easy Day, I was recommended this book by Amazon. Having seen the author in the film Act of Valour, I thought I should give it a try. It certainly did not disappoint! The author takes us through his training as a Navy SEAL, detailing not only what it takes to be a SEAL, but why these men do what they do, and the drive that they have to be the best. Some of the book can come off as a little cheesy, but the insights into these sailors more than make up for some of the clichés that come through.
If you liked the book No Easy Day, then I would definitely recommend this.

It's an interesting read the author offers his own experiences in training, leadership and managing the affects of decisions by senior officers who arguably miss the long term results of snap decisions.

An in depth look at the making and development of a U.S.navy seal. This book also takes you through the life and dangers that a special forces operative has to deal with daily, not occasionally but daily. You will also get to understand the support a wife gives as she has to stay at home while her man is posted to trouble spots world wide.It is a direct comparison to our Special Air Service. It is not a death or glory type of book but almost a reference book for research if any one fancies a go at the hard training that one has to complete to make the grade.Gentlemen total respect to you.

I really enjoyed this book. The author does a fine job of detailing life in the teams, and the mindset behind it all. The only criticism, and it's not really a criticism! Is it's very.......(American) . Nothing wrong with that what's over, but as I have read so many military books written by Brits, you can't help but get a little tired of the 'warrior' lingo etc. Certainly no big deal though, and on the whole the book was a good read.

A great read from the perspective of Seal leadership. Inspiring, motivating, insightful. Great accounts from the battlefield. If you buy the kindle version you still get the pictures at the end of the book. Bonus.

If you're thinking of joining the SEALS, it's probably a useful guide. As a historical memoire it was very poor, and the author is so full of himself it became boring. I gave up 3/4 of the way through it.
