Damaged Minds Not Gothic Enough,

Somehow many of the short stories in this little collection just don't hit me as Gothic enough. Expecting a lot out of the Scottish authors I was quite disappointed as it seems there are better stories out there. I wanted the writing to be a bit more subtle, a tad more subversive. Many of the stories were of exceedingly cruel behavior and lacked atmosphere. Sure they are contemporary but not necessarily a good modern uptake on one of my favorite genre.
