Season 6 of Dallas shows how much the budget on the show increased as it grew in stature: no more wobbly walls, and Ewing Oil actually has some decent offices. The whole series centres around the fight for Ewing Oil between J.R. and Bobby, a fight set up in a codicil to Jock's will. J.R. and Swellin get married (again) but J.R. is soon back chasing ladies, and Swellin's back on the double voddies (no change there then). Pam takes a fancy to Mark, who let's face it, is not a patch on the gorgeous Bob. The lovely Clayton Farlow romances Miss Ellie, but secretly desires Swellin. And Ray and Donna, now worth $20 million, still live in a house not big enough to swing a Texan critter. As for poor old Lucy, her life is just one long sob story, romance wise. This is vintage Dallas ai its best, and now that Cliff is on the up, the scene is set for Series 7 to be a Barnes-Ewing showdown at the ho-down. Bring it on.
