Product Description

DALI ZENSOR 3 is the newest member of the award winning ZENSOR series. This brand new speaker is developed and built to sound much larger than it actually is. Using a 7” woofer based on the technology from the ZENSOR 7 and the tweeter module from the ZENSOR 1, the ZENSOR 3 is able to recreate the high frequencies, the mid range and the low bass in the best possible way..

We have designed the cabinet so that it is large enough to deliver a sufficient, controlled and deep bass and yet is small enough to be placed on a shelf or floor stand.

The woofer cones are made from a blend of fine grained paper pulp reinforced with wood fibres. This mix makes the cones stiff and light which ensures that every micro detail in the signal is reproduced unfiltered.

The 7” woofer increases the surface area by 15% compared to a 6½” woofer and this helps the ZENSOR 3 to deliver the same sound pressure with much

For many years I had been using Yamaha NS-10m studio monitors which are notoriously bright, with thin (but accurate) bass and have a similar cabinet size to the Zensor 3's. I drove those speakers with an Alexis RA-100 amp as well as a Sonos Connect Amp.

I wanted to move to a more well rounded speaker intended for home listening at medium to high volumes. I love audio fidelity but am no audiophile.

At first I ordered and tried out the Zensor 1's which had great reviews and for my needs I was disappointed. They were similar to the previous studio monitor speaker in that although they produced great clarity in the mids and highs, they simply lacked the bass to provide a balanced experience. I can recommend the Zensor 1 speakers for someone who does not require strong bass, or has a sub (which I do not), or is using them for perhaps a small studio environment where focusing on the upper range is important. For me I needed something bigger, and luckily Dali released the Zensor 3.

The Zensor 3 right out of the box has a full bass sound while retaining the great clarity of the Zensor 1 tweeters. It's all very clean and balanced. I've only had them for a couple days so I am still breaking them in so they will only get better. House Music, Jazz, Rock, Tango - all sound great.

I'm driving them with the Sonos Connect Amp at the moment, which would probably struggle to drive a larger speaker as I need to use ~75% of the output volume for loud (!) listening.

I hope that helps as there were very few reviews on these speakers available.

I am currently on my second set of this fantastic speakers. The first set I bought for an oddly shaped space that includes a dining table, two canted cupboards and an alcove like wall area. Driven by an Arcam, these speakers sound phenomenal in this weird space. Dali are known for great diffusion which these deliver in spades and these Zensor 3's have abundant but controlled bass with the 7 inch woofer - if you want great bass you have to move air, that's physics. The second set replaced Zensor 5 floorstanders in the home cinema (lounge) which are brilliant but I actually prefer the muscular sound of the Zensor 3 with a SVS sub. Probably the best bass response ever with the Zensor 3's and a sub for movies. Also they are really controlled for music listening in the 2.1 config. The diffusion is exemplary and the bass is sonic cream. Love 'em.

Excellent sound that compliments perfectly the Marantz PM6005 amp and CD6005 CD Player perfectly.
