I decided to read this book as a Blackburn Rovers fan and I'm glad I did. The player was a legend for Celtic and Liverpool and led a illustrious career. Covers his management days and of course the sad times at Hillsborough. Would recommend to any football fan who enjoys reading a good autobiography.

Great Player, OK Book 27 May 2011
Format:Paperback
Having watched Dalglish destroy my beloved Man Utd on numerous occasions in the 1970s and 80s, I opened this book with mixed feelings. Putting aside club loyalties, Dalglish stood head and shoulders above all other players of the era - what a truly superb player. No wonder Jock Stein was said to be broken-hearted when Dalglish headed for Anfield in 1977. I enjoyed the book but, frankly, I thought it would be better. Even the controversial incidents - ie the clashes with Alex Ferguson - are handled very cautiously. You get the sense that this book is more about diplomacy than actually telling the full story, warts-and-all. It is a good read and worth the cover price. I just thought that a player like Dalglish would have merited a great book rather than just a good tome.

Kenny Dalglish. Two of the most feared and admired words in the British Game. The book starts in his native Glasgow were he supports Rangers but goes to a Catholic school he hates the violence and hate that the two football teams in Glasgow when ever they meet seem to create. It tells of how when the Celtic chief scout called to house he ran to his room and tried to rip down every Rangrs poster he had but in vein. It tells of the great sadness he felt when "Big Jock" died and the the delight he felt with Liverpool doing the double in 1986. It also give s an great insite of the stress he was under at the endof his career with Liverpool. Then it goes on to talk about his time at Blackburn. Overall a good book with some great humour and down t earth stories.
