Excellent detailed instructions for walk with interesting added information on visited areas. I was particularly interested in the links from Leeds etc as many Dales Way guides do not include these.

I first used Mr. Hannon's books in the 1990's and it was a joy to follow the Dales with him this year. Perticularly enjoyed learning more of the history and buildings of Yorkshire. Last updated in 2005 the description is still accurate, though the gnomes of burnieside must have been hidding. (I think it was burnieside, three days of battering by hailstone can blur the memory. Nurse says I may be able to reduce the medication soon as the random crying has abated).
Great book, team it with a good map and enjoy yourself.

Amazingly I know Paul having taught all his children but this cloud my view that this book is excellent value-i have walked part of the Dalesway myself this year but now that my wife has retired we intend to do the walk hopefully within the next year and this book will be an asset-I am aware Paul is always updating all his walks including this one and his information is extremely thorough and well researched-a bargain!!
