I looked at many others before buying this one, but could not be happier with the quality, price and speed of delivery.
well made and very practical
I am very impressed that something so good cost so little
I quickly did a useful modification which anyone can do - I took the lower shelf, cut the ends off so that it can be fitted to the inside of the lid. It's also necessary to saw a small cutout in the centre of the back of the shelf to accommodate the vertical central housing that stores the vertical bar (which has the canvas retaining hook at its top end). I used the larger of the two supplied bars.
I also cut a small segment out of one of the dividers which allows the lid to be closed with the lower shelf still fitted.
You can now mount a canvas on the INSIDE of the lid, allowing access all the time to your painting equipment. Additionally, I cut out two small pieces from the long dividers to allow the lid to close over them with that shelf attached, then glued the dividers in place. Made a small lid which snaps onto the central well with magnetic retainers to hold tubes of paint in place and prevent them falling out around the box when carried vertically. The brushes and spatula can be carried in either the left or right-hand side wells, or both, and I'm now making a spring-loaded retaining bar that closes over the brushes to hold them in place.
To be honest, I decided to buy another much simpler easel with 3 different angles using a rachet system and am much more comfortable using it.
