Format:Paperback
Nerve Centre, the second book i have read in the Dreamland series, sees the reincarnation of Antares, the system that allows a pilot to control a plane with thought. To stop the mistakes of the past, the Pilot has been given control of the new remote controled planes, set to become the fighter squadrons of the twenty first century, Flighkthawk. However, when the first subject, Captain Madrone, becomes paranoid and steals the planes and the "mother" plane, the hunt for them begins.
Having read the full list of Dale Browns novels and sme of Jim Defelice, i was looking forward to seeing what new adventure the team at Dreamland were going to be up to.
Unfortuantly it took a lot to get into the book and, while books like "Flight of the Old Dog" and "Day of the Cheetah" were quick at getting the reader into the plot, i found this book dragging me from page to page rather than willing me to see what was going to happen. Happily if you keep with it you are eventually treated to the spectacular finale you come to expect from these two great authors.
Part of the problem may be getting your head round the technical aspects but i cant help thinking that the book is written in a style to get the attention of Hollywood, due to the over attention to detail.
Having said this, the story line is good and it is well worth a read but just not quite up to the standards people have come to expect from Dale Brown and Jim Defelice.
