A most excellent general cookery book. If you have only one then this is it. We were given our copy when we got engaged in 1978 and still use it despite having many other cook books. My daughter has just left for uni and I am desperate to get a copy for her.

The Dairy Book of Home Cookery may be an old book but it is fantastic, Not only does it have dairy recipes but cooking times and temeratures for different cuts of meat, cakes recipes etc. It is the ideal book for a beginner at cooking. I use my mothers book regularly and am about to leave home and am desparate to get a copy!!

Bought my copy when first issued through the milkman many years ago. I have always called it my bible of cokery. Despite having many other cookery books, even Gordon Ramsey, I still go back to this one. It covers all the basics and takes you further. I have two daughter in laws that can't cook and with guidance from me and borrowing my copy they are making excellent progress. Hence I want two copies. This book is a must for the beginner.
