The Hellenistic world, ushered into existance by Alexander the Great, took in a vast region, stretching from Iraq in the east to Sicily in the west. Product Description

"For high school and college students who must research daily life during the Hellenistic Age, this will be a very useful resource. Thus, it should be purchased by most high school, college, university, and larger public libraries. Since this period is also of great interest to students of Christianity and Judaism, it will also be a good acquisition for seminary libraries." - ARBA --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

2.0 out of 5 stars Superficial material 30 Jan 2013
By Michael W. Mccarthy - Published on Amazon.com
The author has inluded a lot of textual material that is well organized. The section on housing, for example, is 8 pages of solid prose with no line art or floor plans. The index is almost solely people and places with no clues as to where particular subjects may be found. The section on urban and country living does contain material on occupations but no mention at all of money, coinage, incomes, etc. It is almost impossible to get a feel for what most people daily concerns would have been.
