This review is from: Dahmer [DVD] (DVD)
I have read just about everything on the Dahmer case, I have no idea why, put it down to general weirdness, and I can say that this film is 100% better than 'The Secret Life of Jeffrey Dahmer', but then, a dead snail sqaushed on the pavement is 100% better than 'The Secret Life of Jeffrey Dahmer'. I loved this film, it gave an honest portrayal into the life and mind of psycho Jeffrey Dahmer, and portrays him and his tragic story in a way that the viewer can at least understand the man(as much as you can understand someone like him, which addmittedly isn't much) and feel SOMETHING for him other than hate. Most people come away from this movie feeling pity, which is really what someone as sick as him deserves. The acting in this film is awesome, not one bad performance, and I thought it was really brave of Bruce Davidson, a relatively high-profile actor, to appear in a movie like this, not playing some saviour cop, but Jeffreys distraught father. If you want to see a moody, psychological film with a hot guy in it, then rent or buy this, even if you don't give a hoot about the hot guy, this fim is well worth watching or buying.

Tasty little film, 25 Mar 2007
This review is from: Dahmer [DVD] (DVD)
Very underrated movie portraying the twisted mind of one of the most sickest human beings known to the modern world, Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer.
The story is told through a series of flashbacks during Jeffrey's last day's on the loose as he attempts to drug and snare what would have been his last victim and which would lead to Damher's eventual arrest. Jeremy Renner, who plays the part of "Jeffrey Dahmer", is really quite brilliant in his look and portrayal of Dahmer and brings out his evil, frustrated and depraved feelings very convincingly making him believable and loathsome, yet it give's you a sense of sorrow seeing him tourtured by his troubled mind. Supporting cast are general unknown's but also act extremely well throughout.
The movie is made on a very low budget, but has been very well put together and edited making it always interesting. It can come across as being quite slow paced if you come into this expecting to see a gross-out bloodbath. The gore and murders, though some are shown, are on the whole neglected in favour of giving the audience more character analysis of Dahmer's inner thoughts. It is still uneasy and shocking viewing at times, just not as full on as the "Ted Bundy" movie that was released the same year.
Overall it's an exellent and fascinating little film that punches well above it's weight. Just don't expect it to be as shocking as you think it might. Well worth a look.

Very disapointing Secret life is so much better, 20 Sep 2010
This review is from: Dahmer [DVD] (DVD)
I watched this film found it confusing badly made and boring, the guy who played dahmer looked nothing like him, cannibalism was totally missed out of the film the only good bit was when Dahmers dad found the head. I highly reccommend the movie the secret life of jeffrey Dahmer its very low budget but an absolute classic and accurate to the real events.
