Purchased 2 of these universal adapters and initially worked but after approx 2 weeks both stopped working. They have independent fuses which I replaced but no good. Returns Policy is customer pays for returned items, which in this case is nearly the cost of the items themselves so a waste of money, not worth it. Save yourself the hassle and pay a little bit more for a quality item.

It is a very good design, however the fuse blew after the red plastic inside melted, therefore cheaply made and dangerous.

Bought two of these unit. Arrived very quickly. Both unit worked fine as a socket adaptor but within a few minutes of plugging in my blackberry to the usb there was a blue flash, the lights went out and that was the end of the usb (socket bit still works). On neither unit did the fuse blow and the rated current should not have been exceeded. Should really send them back but may keep them as the socket adaptor side is really neat.

Not fit for purpose
Blew up when I plugged it in (no load). Looked at reviews when returning - others had similar problems - dangerous if fuse does not blow, which I dont think mine did. Read more

Fine for an adaptor, but the USB stopped working
After a few months of use, the USB stopped working. Still works ok as an adaptor, but left me without a way to charge my phone in Africa :(

i only had this product for a month or two it is great and very handy but it fires very easily if you use alot of plugs at the same time

Seems OK. Needs to be 'field tested' . USB output only 500mA MAX.
